S&OP and IBP Salaries 2026: How Much Do S&OP and IBP Managers Really Earn?

6 min read

Let’s talk about money. What is a realistic S&OP salary or IBP salary today, in the USA, the UK, France, Australia, Dubai or India? And what is the gap between an S&OP Manager and a Director or VP IBP?

My story: in 2017 I was a backpacker in Australia, coming out of a one-year sabbatical, and I needed a job and a visa. I became a demand planner and analyst at around AUD 90k (about USD 94k in today’s money). A few months later I was promoted S&OP Manager with a 50% raise. I could pay my rent on Manly Beach and take the ferry to work every day. One year later, I was promoted Director of Supply Chain, Operations and S&OP: another 48% raise.

My S&OP salary story: analyst, S&OP Manager, Director, from 94k to 182k USD

Since then, those jobs helped me become a director, a consultant, and to train thousands of professionals on S&OP and IBP. So I compiled the numbers for you: 12 charts, 6 countries, 4 career levels, real job offers, and every source cited.

How I became an S&OP / IBP expert and leader, from warehouse worker to director

I covered all of this in the video below. If you prefer to read, the full breakdown continues underneath.

Why S&OP and IBP jobs are booming (and execution jobs are not)

With AI, we are living a massive shift in supply chain and operations jobs, with losers and winners.

All the jobs where you mostly execute are dropping fast on LinkedIn, Indeed and every job platform: demand planning coordinator, junior supply planner, even junior S&OP data analyst. Companies need less and less of them.

On the other side, companies need more of what I call decision capacity, or orchestration capacity. Two roles stand out in planning:

  • S&OP / IBP Manager: +45% projected by 2030
  • IBP Director / VP: +65% projected by 2030
S&OP and IBP roles grow while execution roles shrink by 2030

You can also see AI and planning merging. Titles like “IBP and AI Planning Lead” are already appearing. Many titles, one topic: more decision, more orchestration, less execution. If you want more on this, watch my video on orchestrator and builder roles. Today, let’s focus on money.

S&OP / IBP Manager and Director salaries in 6 countries

All figures below are base salary mid-points, converted to US dollars. IBP titles are more common in large organizations and usually pay a bit more, but the ranges are almost the same. If you are still confused between the two, read my article on the difference between S&OP and IBP.

  • USA: S&OP / IBP Manager 140k, Director / VP IBP 230k
  • UK: Manager 85k, Director / VP IBP 156k
  • France: Manager 78k, Director / VP IBP 140k
  • Australia: Manager 92k, Director / VP IBP 149k (I was in Sydney for 3 years, and it really depends on the city)
  • UAE (Dubai): Manager 60k, Director / VP IBP 136k, tax-free
  • India: Manager 25k, Director / VP IBP 75k, growing fast, especially in large global organizations

Maybe you are not in one of these six countries, but we see the same trends all over the planet.

Do these salaries really exist? Real job offers

I checked live job offers to confirm the numbers.

  • Amazon, Supply Chain Manager S&OP: 85k to 128k depending on the city. Not New York or LA, and Amazon is not famous for high salaries outside big cities.
  • Director, Demand and Integrated Business Planning, Chicago: 180k to 210k.
  • Associate Director IBP, Palm Beach, Florida: 143k to 286k, with a range that depends on skills, education and experience.
  • Vice President, Global Supply Planning, Broomfield, Colorado: 300k to 315k.
  • VP Global Planning, mid-size company: around 220k.

So yes, these salaries exist, and there are many opportunities.

The S&OP / IBP career ladder: from Analyst to VP IBP

Here are the levels, with the US base salary as an example. You will find the same proportions in other countries.

  • S&OP / IBP Analyst: 60k to 95k. A good entry point, but be careful: with AI, companies need fewer junior roles in this position. Move quickly from analyst to facilitator and manager.
  • S&OP / IBP Manager: 115k to 165k, bonus not included.
  • Head of Planning IBP: 150k to 195k. You need more experience for this one.
  • Director / VP IBP, large groups: 200k to 300k, plus bonus, plus equity, plus a lot of meetings, stress and responsibilities.

Bonus is not included in these ranges. Directors and VPs, and people in startups, often get equity on top.

Same job, same purchasing power

If you really want to compare countries, look at purchasing power (PPP).

If you are in India and you make the equivalent of USD 25k, you have the same purchasing power as someone making USD 100k in the US. And most of the countries above land in the same place: being an S&OP / IBP Manager in the UK, France, Australia, Dubai or India is like having 100k in the US.

The US pays more because of bigger companies, bigger markets, and a high cost of living. But the key message is this: an S&OP or IBP position gives you a comfortable life wherever you are.

The big jump: from S&OP Manager to Director / VP IBP

The game is not only to stay an S&OP Manager, but to move to a Director or Vice President position. For me it was a game changer.

When you run S&OP well, you have a lot of visibility. My example: I was leading the S&OP executive committee with all the executives in the room. If you do it properly, show leadership, deliver, and bring collaboration and trust, you get the opportunity to go to the next level. And the next step is big:

  • USA: +64% from Manager to Director / VP IBP
  • UK: +84%
  • France: +79%
  • India: +200%

For me it was “only” +48%, because I had already received a 50% raise the year before, and, to be honest, I did not negotiate my salary. If you have the ambition to deliver and go to the next level, the opportunity is massive.

How high can it go?

Based on current job offers in the US, a VP Supply Chain in Los Angeles can go from 340k to 595k. That is more than half a million dollars for one position: big city, big companies, big market.

Of course, in a smaller town or a smaller company you will have fewer opportunities. But this shows the potential of this market.

Salary growth 2019 to 2026

From 2019 to 2026, S&OP and IBP pay accelerated strongly from 2021 and 2022, with COVID. The world became very uncertain, and companies needed people to facilitate collaboration and alignment in that uncertainty.

That is still true today. That is why these roles grow so fast: around +12% in one year in 2022, and still growing, especially for Director and VP positions. Companies are looking for people who are good with business, technical skills, facilitation and AI. These people are rare, so salaries keep rising.

Same job, five US cities, five salaries

Even inside one company, location changes everything. For the same S&OP Manager job at Amazon, the range goes from 116k in Nashville to 142k in New York. Cost of living, competition and opportunity all play a role.

Same job, up to 30% pay gap: what makes the difference

With the same job title and the same experience, you can have up to a 30% pay gap based on your skills. Here is what moves you up the range, and improves your chances in negotiation and recruitment:

  • Leading an S&OP / IBP transformation project. If you have implemented S&OP from day one, this is the number one accelerator. I can teach you exactly how.
  • Mastering a planning system like SAP IBP or Kinaxis.
  • AI and data literacy for planning. This one is new and big. Not many people master it today, and job offers now ask if you are really building and orchestrating with AI. I talk a lot about this on my channel and I use it a lot in my courses.
  • International scope and good English (with a French accent, in my case, it still works).
  • Statistical forecasting. There is a lot of forecasting to do, and I have a Forecasting Expert course if you want to improve this skill.
  • Running a monthly S&OP cycle. This is the foundation of the role, and it gives recruiters confidence that you can do the job.
What moves an S&OP / IBP salary up: the six levers

Three things to remember

  • You already have a very good salary in S&OP / IBP, and it grows quite fast every year in every country.
  • The step from Manager to Director / VP IBP gives you a massive jump.
  • S&OP and IBP roles will grow 45% to 65% in the next few years, while execution roles in coordination and planning slow down and collapse because of AI.

Let me know in the comments: what is your salary today, and how much do you want to make?

One last thing, and it matters more than any chart above. Do not chase the salary alone. The best moves of my career were the ones where the job aligned with my life (a beach, a ferry, a team I liked), where the work excited me every morning, and where I was surrounded by people who inspired me and pulled me up. The money followed. Choose the role, the company and the people that give you that, and the numbers in this article will come with it.
